Desvres has been famous for centuries for the manufacture of decorated ceramics. Today you can still visit its potteries, see craftspeople at work, and choose bargains in the factory shops. The town Desvres is a lively market town, deep in the countryside inland from Boulogne. There is a big weekly market, and good restaurants - many serving regional specialities.
