Sportica - sports complex Gravelines

Sportica - the largest sports centre north of Paris The pool has a 90 metre water slide	Get fit, look on top form! After a swim in the spacious pool, what next? A sauna? ..roller-skating in the rollerdrome? ..body building or sun-bronzing in the gym? ..martial arts, tennis, table-tennis or squash in the multi-purpose sports hall? ..or you could try the 8-lane ten-pin bowling alley, the two cinemas ...or unwind after all that activity in the restaurant, snack bar or pizzeria. Sportica is open almost every day, all year round. Accommodation is available on site.
Background information Outdoor leisure	..Our swimming club went to Sportica in 1999 and it was great fun and very enjoyable for all that attended. We stayed at the Polder hotel which was about 50 metres from the complex. The swimmers used many of the facilities including the bowling alley and skating rink and it lifted the team spirit greatly. The week trip with use of the facilities also improved everyones swimming dramatically with one-2-one sessions on starts, turns and takeovers. The most noticable change in the swimmers over the week was the rate at which their P.B's had dropped. I remember that i had knocked at least 3 seconds off each of my 50 metre times and 8 seconds off each off my 100 metre times. It is not all hard work though it is fun as well with football and basketball matches and the throwing in of the coaches at the end of the week!!...
