History of Channel Crossings
From on top of the white chalk cliffs of 130-metre high Cap Blanc-Nez, you can appreciate the splendid view (on a clear day) of the English coast only 30km away - and the many ships passing through the busiest shipping corridor in the world - about 600 ships an hour.

Nearby the Transmanche Museum tells the stories of many projects to cross the channel by air, underground, across the sea, underwater.... including many “crazy crossings” and the brave efforts of marathon swimmers to swim across the swift currents of the narrow straits.
