Villa Mont-Noir
European Literary Centre, near Bailleul

The centre stages literary events, concerts and gatherings with European authors

Writer's childhood home
The respected writer Marguerite Yourcenar spent her summer holidays as a child in this park. The influence of the Mont-Noir on her works prompted the recent creation here of an unusual cultural centre.

Museum
Marguerite Yourcenar's former home, the Villa Mont-Noir, has become a museum about her life, and a residence for European writers to spend a few months drawing inspiration from this setting.

Cultural programme
Each summer the park has shows, concerts and literary gatherings. As you stroll through the park, you can see musicians and performers such as street theatre groups, clowns, puppet circuses.
