In Hondschoote (near Ghyvelde) Antoine Pouleyn's workshop introduces you to traditional Flemish games - like skittles, trou madame, boules toumantes and grenoille. You can have some good old fashioned fun with the pastimes of a bygone age - many of which are pub games, played either indoors or out in the garden according to season in the friendly estaminets, the traditional Flemish pub/cafe. You can also buy traditional games to take home. Many of these games are still played around the region. Skittles is popular in the villages of the "Seven Valleys" (near Montreuil). Most villages have a skittle ground marked out on the main square, and a village team that takes part in inter-village championship competitions. |

 "Grenoille" (Putback) - a favourite game in estaminets (Flemish pubs). You toss the small disk at a board, gaining points for getting them in different holes. Finish by throwing one in the frog's mouth! |
