Étaples - fishing boats land their catches on the quayside looking over the flat estuary of the river Canche	Sailing in the estuary of the river Canche at Etaples Fishing and seafood Etaples is a working fishing port at the mouth of the river Canche. Its fishermen run a co-operative with a fish market and a fish restaurant in the little town - both are highly recommended.
1. Fishing with trawled nets out in coastal waters 2. Boat trips down the estuary to the Bay   3. Sail-training school in the sheltered estuary - also a nature reserve and haven for wildlife 4. You can buy really fresh fish in the quayside markets - or eat well in the fishermen's co-op restaurant.

Artists It has attracted many artists to live and work here, inspired by the special quality of the light along the Côte d'Opale,and by the colour and vitality of the local fishing community and life by the seaside. Some have become internationally famous: examples of their work can be seen in local museums.
